From our family to yours…

Refreshingly real, natural ingredient offerings should be available to all consumers, and ice cream cakes are no exception.  When we searched for an ice cream cake to serve at our daughter’s birthday party several years ago, we found the only options available were loaded with artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.  Limited on alternatives and short on time, we purchased from the selection available and proceeded with the party.  The next morning, while cleaning up, we found a piece of cake that had been left out.  After examining the gooey glob – which had somehow not melted and retained much of its original shape (thanks to the hydrogenated oil-based stabilizers) - we realized an opportunity existed to create an ice cream cake containing natural ingredients free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.

Soon after we began experimenting with “clean label” ice cream cakes in our ice cream shop in Arlington, Massachusetts.  We layered our ice cream cakes – which was more time consuming and labor intensive – using our proprietary mix and fresh cream. We also introduced ingredients such as our homemade fudge, organic cocoa and natural sprinkles. The reception from our loyal customers was overwhelmingly positive.  Appropriately, Abilyn’s Frozen Bakery was born.  Through trial and error – and from the continuous feedback of our valued customers - we continued to improve our original vanilla and chocolate ice cream cake and have since expanded our flavor offerings and converted our ice cream cakes to gluten free.  We ask that you continue to inspire us and invite you to compare our refreshingly real ingredients and taste the Abilyn’s difference!
